Welcome to your New Life !
Whether you are:
- a complete novice or regular home-crafter of cold-process soap with a dream to becoming a soap-making Pro or
- a business entrepreneur producing and selling soap but are looking towards your next growth stage...
.....welcome to your new life !
Uniquely Designed for You, by Me
a Professional Savonnière and
Let's get the blurb out of the way before we get stuck into the real reasons why you should develop your skills with me. I make no apologies for boasting to be one of the top 5 teaching schools in France, specialising in teaching the mastery of cold-process saponification in English.
Yada, Yada, Yada. Glad the blurb is out of the way so we can get to the heart of why you are here and contemplating your "new life" kick-started alongside me:
You want to make sure that you have maximum return on investment (ROI) for your course fees. At first glance, the fees aren't cheap and yes, there are others that offer a more competitive price. But consider this...with never more than 2 people per course (see Reason 2 below), you are getting my full undivided, personal attention where I will not only divulge all the soap-making secrets that other establishments don't want you to know, but also ensure that your business roadmap is 100% clear, realistic and measurable in terms of your ROI.
You might be contemplating either going it a lone or setting up a business partnership with a friend or loved one and would like to learn together. No matter your circumstances, you need a course that focuses soley on your particular business vision, aims and goals. Search the internet and I guarantee that you will not find a professional course that uniquely offers private, bespoke tuition designed uniquely for your personal professional development needs and those of your business.
You'll be looking for re-assurance that the investment of your hard earned cash buys you the best. Here comes the bragging... not only do I have a long proven heritage in adult human development at all levels, from instruction & teaching to coaching & facilitation, but I am a successful soap-making entrepreneur who knows what it takes to win. Don't take my word for it. I've a 5 star rating on Tripadvisor where many of my students, who come from all four corners of the world, have left comments and reviews of their personal experiences during the time spent on one of my courses. I'm even proud to say that some of my ex-students now count amongst my competitors. How cool is that ? !
You are wise enough to know that the support received post-course is often more valuable than the theoretical and practical aspects of the course itself. For the novice, going it alone can often be extremely daunting and even if you are a competent home-crafter, looking to turn your passion into a viable, profitable business, it can often be another beast altogether. That's why you'll continue to receive coaching and support from me for six months following your course either by telephone or by video-conferencing at times to suit you, subject to my availability.
As a shrewd individual, you'll be looking to continually advance both your business and practical soap-making skills at minimal cost to you. As an alumni, you will benefit from special preferencial rates on future courses, tailor-made to your specific needs. You can also opt to receive my bi-annual Newsletters packed full of interesting soapy subjects & detailed information on new techniques for you to try along with access to video demonstrations on my Youtube channel. You'll also have the opportunity to showcase your own work in my on-line gallery with direct reciprocal links to your own website.

What will I learn?
To whet your appetite, you'll be interested to get insight into what you'll learn and discover during your time with me. I don't publish the full programme here because I prefer to reserve this to structure the course around your specific needs. You'll require a course designed to meet your own goals and this will be completely different to the requirements of somebody else. Afterall, we are all unique ! You will find below an overview of the typical subjects covered but nothing is set in stone.
How do you tailor the course to my needs?
What you will need to know is that before I design your course, I will ask you to complete a questionnaire that is designed to capture key information pertinent to your current skill set vis-a-vis cold-proces soap making and those associated with setting up and running a business.
Once I've evaluated your responses, I will make a full proposal relative to the information you have returned to me in the questionnaire. The proposal will include a recommended course duration, a detailed summary of the course content along with a fee quotation.
Do I need to do a 7 day course and what will it cost?
The proposed course duration is dependent upon my evaluation of your needs but please do note that the minimum course duration is 3 consecutive days (21 hours) and prices start at 885 euros per person rising to 1,995 euros per person for a 7 day (49 hours) consecutive course. Prices exclude on-site accommodation either on a B&B or half-board basis for which I'd be happy to quote.
If you are personally financing the cost of your course, you may be interested to know that you have the option to spread the cost across 4 equal instalments either by 4 post-dated cheques drawn in Euros on a french bank or via Paypal. This option does incur an additional administration and banking charge of 50 euros.
You'll also have the opportunity to pre-order and purchase professional soap-making equipment should you so wish and opt for my pick up/drop off service from either Toulouse Airport or Caussade (Département 82) or Lexos (Département 82) train stations to help solve your travel dilemmas, but all of this will be included in your proposal and registration documents.

Assess Your Current Skill Base Now
With one click here, you'll be diverted to my free skills assessement that you can complete and return to me. It is important that you complete it as honestly as possible and aren't tempted to over exaggerate as one of the first things you'll do on your bespoke training is to demonstrate your current skills in a practical soap-making session. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
You will, no doubt, want to know whether this course results in an accredited, state recognised qualification and the answer to that is no.
At time of writing, recognised "official" training course for the mastery of soap-making of any type does not exist and you do not need any state recognised qualification(s) to open your soap-making business, either in France, Europe or the UK.
You will receive a Certificate of Competence at the end of my course accompanied by a report of my observations together with a list of the modules you have undertaken. This will help you to a) diminish the perceived risks assumed by any future Insurer of your choice and b) facilitate your business start-up with your relevant Chamber of Commerce or equivalent.

Good to know
Caylus is a medieval village in the Tarn et Garonne department 82 in South West France. The training and accommodation is integral to my home which is a medieval house dating back to the 12th century, within 2 minutes walk from the village centre and all amenities. (Bank, Post Office, Bars, Restaurants, Camp site, Hair dressers, Butchers, Newsagents, Cake and Bread shops....)
The interior of my home is typically medieval with steep and narrow stairs and is located on the side of a hill that leads up towards the village centre.
People who have mobility problems often find access to the village and within the interior of my home difficult.
There are two weekly markets throughout the year and the village boasts a history of soap-making, Roman invasions, Cathar hideaways, Templar Knights and Dragons and nestles on the side of a hill dominated by a beautiful chateau.
During the summer months, the village is alive with tourists eager to step back in time to experience life in medieval times as they wander through the lanes and alleyways steeped in stories of legends, rebellions and the plague. July sees local habitants splendidly dressed in medieval garb for the annual Medieval Fayre to which thousands flock. Caylus is the "come-to" destination on 14th July where the night skies are illuminated with a stunning firework display that is mirrored in the lake below.
August celebrates the creative talents of Ceramicists from far and wide during the 2 day Pottery Market whilst November showcases the work of local artisans at its eco winter market where a whole host of hand-made products are displayed to help solve your Christmas gift dilemmas.
